A little backstory on why I took the time to create this project:
To keep it short, I grew up playing video games mostly on SNES and N64. They were so fun and still are! Eventually in the early 2000’s I got an Original XBOX. I played a plethora of XBOX games, one of the first games I played was HALO. HALO was a beautifully crafted experience. I didn’t think it could get better. Then, HALO 2 along with XBOX Live was released. Wow! I was able to play with my friends online together, it was an electrifying time with the invention of easy online multiplayer connection, Achievement Unlocked. I have continued to follow XBOX and their progress, through the good and bad.

This sparked a chain reaction of people looking at what was on his shelf. One of the items was an unreleased XBOX console.
Months passed and Windows Central reported about a patent that revealed more information about the unreleased XBOX console, code name Project Keystone. The patent revealed blueprint type images for the different sides of the console.
The Verge interviewed Phil Spencer in late 2022 and asked about the device.
Phil Spencer said, “It was more expensive than we wanted it to be when we actually built it out with the hardware that we had inside.” “We decided to focus that team’s effort on delivering the smart TV streaming app.”

Well, history will not forget the console that never was! I have seen multiple re-creations of the console. However, nothing came close to what the blueprint images showed. When image searching for “Xbox Project Keystone” there are two types of consoles that are shown, a small rectangular box and a half sized XBOX Series X.
I wasn’t satisfied.
So I took it upon myself to create the console as best as I could and also create a commercial showing off the different aspects of the console. In my mind, I was trying to find a way to differentiate the console from the XBOX Series X and XBOX Series S. So, the console had a 10 GbE LAN Ethernet port, which would help in streaming since having access to a higher bandwidth port would create a smoother streaming experience for the user. Of course I added the other essential ports and buttons to the console: HDMI 2.1, Power Cable port, USB A port, Pair button, and the XBOX power button. As for the name, XBOX Series G, since the console focused more on streaming, I figured why not name it after the XBOX gaming subscription service, XBOX Gamepass.
I wanted to create something good enough that it could be referenced later on, when people talk about the history of XBOX.

Information on the commercial I created using Davinci Resolve:
I made sure to look at a few XBOX commercials to get a feel for how they are laid out. I noticed that there is an intro transition XBOX logo and at the end, the commercials finish with the XBOX logo followed by the Microsoft logo. I was able to source the logos from a 4k commercial file. I had to create a mask in the middle of the intro XBOX logo to mimic the actual commercials intro. The background was from Rostislav Uzunov, from Pexels website, "A close up of a wave pattern on a wall"; I manipulated the background to fit the needs of the animation. Everything else was fully created by me, even the XBOX Gamepass section. Yes, I downloaded every available XBOX Gamepass game icon to make the moving games section, it took a while. Also, I wasn't even able to fit all the games that are available on XBOX Gamepass, there were too many!
I even made sure to make some asterisk callouts when there were bold statements made and for the XBOX Gamepass section.
I am pretty proud how the commercial came out, especially since it was my first time using Davinci Resolve. I had to learn the basics of each section of Davinci Resolve in order to create the commercial I wanted to make.
